Evo IX emissions this year

Went to get my tabs and was told I had to do emissions this year

Anyone else been through the test? What can I expect, just an OBD2 readyness test? or both a obd2 and sniff test? visual inspection?

Depends on your state. Arizona is OBD2 only if the car is new enough, Cali is everything.

This is why I register my cars to a piece of property in Arlington... no emission test needed.

I went to have mine done at the Marysville station. They just plugged it in to the scanner. No sniffer or visual.

Still failed though, but that's beside the point.

Just did mine two weeks ago. OBDII scan, no sniffer. Passed, which surprised the hell out of the tech lol.

Edit: did mine in Everett, 112th station behind Razzels.

OK, sounds like I can expect just the readyness test. Who all has passed running the ER Speed Density flash?

Thanks for the info,
John-

I did my emissions check earlier this year also at the station on Aurora in Seattle. You pull in and shut off the engine. They don't have AWD dynos so they just connect to the OBD port to confirm everything's good to go. They don't even start the engine so no sniffer.

It shouldn't matter if you're running speed density or not. ER or anyone familiar with ECUFlash can make sure your ECU will pass the OBD check. I'd be surprised if ER hasn't already given you that capability.

Passed mine at the beginning of the month thanks to a little emissions patch magic lol...guy plugged into OBDII Port, scanned, started engine, revved a little bit and then gave me the ok sheet...I went right after I was off work so I was still wearing my work uniform so after I passed the test he asked if I was emissions certified and then when I said yes he said "ahhhhh no wonder your exhaust smells like it has alcohol in it, tricky tricky" hahahahaha

if you have an obdII vehicle its no dyno and just a readiness and obd check.. if your pre obdII but all wheel drive.. its just a sniffer and no dyno.. if your pre obdII and two wheel drive then its a sniffer and dyno.. english is a pretty renown place. i'm sure if youve had no check engine light for quite some time. you should pass

Same here, first time for me too & 5 years sure did go quick! I'm thinking we'll pass fine though, I thought I remember Aaron say he has all the emissions stuff disabled (to pass). So hopefully even with test pipe, E98, whatever, it won't matter
