I see some people remove the vents heres another option
let me know what you guys think.

oh what the garbage, i didn't realize they came painted the same as the car. are the black ones standard or do people paint / modify them to look like that?

It's part of the chrome package that's available, and default on the MR.

Not at all they have a little double sided tape and basically some tabs that hold them in

I believe very little and it has more to do with equalizing pressure in the wheel well to surrounding air. Though you could argue that the transmission cooler and oil cooler sit down in front of the wheel well and air flow from the front of the car passes through these into the wheel well itself and needs a place to go allowing some level of cooling to occur. Though on race cars this is more about aerodynamics than cooling.
