Guys I want to install led for my license plate. I can't seem to figure out h ow to release it without b reading the plastic. I know a few of you guys on the forum already installed it. Could someone tell me or show perhaps. I noticed a litte plastic button thing that's facing the inside of the car but tried to pry that open but failed.

one came off super easy, one was hard as ****. To be honest, on the D/S one, I GENTLY used a screwdriver between the lamp housing and the liftgate handle housing, and twisted the screwdriver kinda hard to explain...

Left bracket is lamp, center line is screwdriver, right bracket is the handle assembly

get it? as you turn the blade it spreads the two apart... be extremely careful with this, you're playing with metal VERY close to your paint, and you also don't want to screw up the housing.

FYI, I put a little grease on mine before I re-installed them, hopefully that will prevent this in the future.

Thanks,

I'll try this when i get back home. I tried to pry it open between the black plastic housing and the transparent plastic, the housing started to bend before the plastic.

but i'll try it again tonight.

From left to right,

Clear plastic, Screw driver, black plastic housing, metal

I noticed that at the center of the clear plastic, located near the edge, there is a small indent that jams up if i were to twist it right. Not sure if you can get it, but i have a pic of it below (ill take a picture tonight if it doesn't work).

Anyways, i'll still try. Otherwise I think ill try doing it against the metal and black housing?
