Not exactly a 2013, but very relevant..
(Goes without saying.. DO NOT Try this at home!)

IIHS - 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport /ASX/ small overlap crash test

Notice:
The knee airbags deployed. Very nice.
AND, the driver-side mirror stayed intact & not even slammed forward.. impressive. (wished mine would have been that solid )

I will speak to the light off-road vehicle test video. Everything he says about the vehicle really being comfortable in an off road environment and having a well sorted suspension is true. Having taken mine off road, it is quite strange how it goes from rolling down a highway to navigating a slick, wet, rutted dirt road. The super slow steering that I sometimes curse in Target parking lots becomes the best thing in the world on the trail and the suspension has pretty good travel for a fully independent setup. AWC is pretty stout for what it is and the ground clearance is great. Keep in mind that this platform also underpins the Jeep Compass/ Patriot twins which are trail rated machines (and surprisingly capable in Moab, Utah!), I wonder if some of that rigidity carried over to the OS by default?

Well, I can attest to the rigidity of the O.Sports - first hand. They are stiff unibody vehicles.

Side Note: Has anybody noticed Mitsu's rims SPLITTING in half after the above collision testing? Watch how the front driver side wheel cracks in two... (@ 0:10 in...)

Now watch this test done on an 2014 Outlander. You'll notice the same event happens to its wheel. (@ 0:10 in...)

Not sure if that's a "safety feature" built-in to the rim or what.
Just strange to see that kind of "break" happen almost identically on two separate model vehicles - with two different style (and probably different sizes too) rims!

Also, on the O.Sport the cracked rim ALMOST takes off a portion of the door. I can't imagine if something like this occurs in moving traffic, that piece of ragged-split rim could go off and strike another vehicle(s) or person(s)...

They are the same size wheel, just different design. Probably same supplier as well.

Well, with my opinions and concerns (of rim splitting) aside..
The professionals at IIHS has stated our 2013 Outlander Sports to be standouts in "small" SUV crash tests, second only to the Suby Forester.

IIHS news release • May 16, 2013

Redesigned Subaru Forester aces tough new crash test; only 2 of 13 small SUVs tested earn Top Safety Pick+

The 2014 Subaru Forester is the first vehicle to ace every aspect of the challenging small overlap front crash test. The Forester and the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, which earns acceptable in the test, are the latest vehicles to qualify for the Institute's recently inaugurated top honor, Top Safety Pick+. Other tested small SUVs earn poor or marginal ratings for small overlap.

I don't know who loads bicycles when they're going kayaking that day.

Would have been better to see the kayaks on the roof

These are pretty pointless. Doesn't even show them removing the bikes from the rack

Did I see that correctly.. The 2014 ASX still has their ski Pass-Thru?

And they get a storage locker in place of their spare... so, Do they have Run-Flats then?

It also shows that the 2014 still has all 3 drive modes on the 4WD select button. Didn't someone here get a 2014 with no 2WD mode?
