Granitebrown from euroland

Let me introduce our OS or like it's called over here, ASX.
I started working localy, so we sold our 2 cars and got this one.

It's in granite brown, the perfect color for us, you don't see that it's dirty
1.8L Diesel, 115bhp 300nm, 6speed manual. Maybe going to get it chipped, but other plans that cost money atm so it can wait a bit. Gain from the ECU remap should be somewhere around 50bhp & 50nm.
It's FWD, the 4WD costs a €6k more...

As for specs, it's a Intense model as they call them here.
Basicly it means: auto-airco, CC, leather steeringwheel & shifter, 16" alloys, DRL, 6 speakers & ipod/usb/line connectivity, auto lights & wipers and for the rest the usual.

Some more light in the boot. Made it so that the parcel shelf could easily be removed, plug and pray.

Door entry plates, made in China

Replaced the horns, they sounded weak these sound more mature

Powerfull LEDs in the DRL-housing.

I also have the lexia device, so I can program some stuff myself.
Auto-Locking the doors at 20kmh, autounlocking when removing the key, main lights as welcome lights, activated the alarm.

Other things that have been done are a HID-kit, LED licenseplate/DRL/interior/parkinglights, K&N filter and a small led to let us know when the DPF is regenerating.

I also have an oil-catch-can waiting to be installed. That'll keep the engine a bit cleaner. And will look into shutting the EGR-valve of.
Have to order mud-flaps also, with all the rain we get here it's hard to keep the mirrors somewhat clean. A window tint should also happen some day, but only the rears. Front is not allowed.

As for fuel usage, it's somewhere around 35-40MPG. But we, both my wife and I, are no slow drivers. We use the rev range and highway speeds tend to be a bit high from time to time. All in all it's a rather economical car, that goes rather well.
Even on snow, with summer tires, it handles really well I was surprised a few weeks ago...

Welcome to the club!

Nice mods.
Did you just tap into the hatch light for your additional LED strip in the boot?

I did the rear foglight mod two months ago. Bought the part from Italy, cost me around 65 euro. However, getting the part was not the problem, it was installing it. The wiring to the rear part of the car was missing, along with the relay in the light switch. That job actually cost me quite a bit of time. maybe with a bit more wiring know how you could get the job done faster.

mvrsport: yes I just tapped into the hatch light with scotchlocks. And used a 12V male & female powerconnector.

SicLanEvo: Rear center is idd fog light. I can try to get the part, but sometimes it's troublesome. Dealerships... And also, shipping overseas from here is expensive. <1kg is €13. If I don't forget I'll make a phone call next week to ask for the part.

Horn install was really easy. When you open the engine bay there's a plastic plate hold on by a few push pin clips I think. It is right in front of you horizontally between the headlamps. Remove that and you can access the upper horn. Reach 30cm deeper and you can reach the second horn. Detach both, put in a wire with some matching connectors on it, and connect them to your horns.
I removed the upper horn and installed the two others in that place as you see on the picture. Added a second wire on each horn for the ground, just bolted that one between the chassis and the mounting bracket of the horns.

In the pictures I only disconnected one of the horns, but didn't get proper results. Now it's connected properly, but no pictures of it.

So for your horns you did not have to use an aftermarket relay of harness? You just made a positive and negative lead do each horn and installed them basically like stock?

If you can let me know about the rear fog part and shipping to the states. I can wire pretty well and have no fear of making a harness or relay for it. After all I do led and hid lighting for cars as side work.

Did nothing to the wires, just extended the positive lead. For the ground I connected it to the chassis.

I've send an email to the dealership. As soon as I know I'll send you a PM.

A sidenote after the last service.
I gave the shop my own engine oil, Mobil 1 ESP 5W30. What a difference!
The engine has never been so quiet and relaxed.

Thanks for sending the email. I will be swapping to Mobil1 once I have my first service. I used this religiously on my Evo and it ran like a champ until I got rid of it with 185k on the odometer. The shop that has it now tracks the car every weekend and it's got over 5000 track miles on the stock, motor, trans, and turbo
