Krakkers 2013 "Get'r" build thread. (my mods)
Figured I'd start my own build thread for the wifes getter rig, instead of blitzcreiging everyones else's. She calls it the ****z-Lander. lol It's an AWD model (funny tho, you can sellect 4WD, 4WD-lock or 2WD) I like the seat height and the ride on this ute compared to the CRV, MX5, Tucson and Rav4. I'm surprised at how close this thing is ride wise to the Cadillac SRX.
Mods I've done so far are:
Tekata intake
Ultra Racing solid strut bar
Curt class III hitch
debadged the rear
Mods coming are:
OBX aluminum crank pulley (already purchased)
front windows tinted to match the rear's
custom 2.25" exhuast. HF CAT, long bullet resonator, inline magna flow muffler and "really" stratening out the pipe. (too many wack bends at 1.5")
leveling out the rear.
One off aluminum shifter nob
Eclipse throttle body
proximity key, alarm w/ remote start and push button start. (used to that now on my Sonata turbo and I HATE big a$2 keys in my pocket and clanking around the collum.

Pics of the FSTB and intake
here's the Ultra Racing solid strut bar. nice unit for just over $100. I like a solid bar, even if it's it's just on a ute. Time to install was about 5 minutes. I put Blue loctite on the threads. just for peace of mind. The ride is a lot more stable in the corners and "much" better on the on ramps.
You can see the intake as well, it's the same make as the Greddy unit but sold under the Takeda brand name. tho it's not broke in yet, the get up and go is much better and the power gain IS noticable when getting on it. Now that the air is getting in, I've got to work on getting OUT better.

Curt class III hitch
the hitch is really nice and looks like it belongs with the vehicle. Super easy to install and there's NO special tools needed. If you want to carry your bikes, use a receiver luggage/utility rack, or pull a wave runner or cycle, this is the best hitch IMO you can get for the OS. As always, I debadged the rear, I just like a smooth rear end. (don't go there
)

got mine off ebay for $200 shipped. They were 209 I think lowest pric but I made an offer of 190 and they countered with 200 even,,, I jumped on it. Super nice packaging and quality, It's the exact same thing as the Greddy intake except for the sticker. I did search under Lancer when buying it. (2010-2012 I believe)
Hope this don't get me in trouble.
We've had this name for our ride almost since we got it. Tho we joked about it, today I finally took the emblems and RE structured them onto the engine cover.
I hope they don't take it personally when I take it in for it's first oil change.
The only reasoning behind the name was for it's performance.
Enjoy it or hate it, it is what it is.
Pic edited for language reasons. I took the "SHI" from Mitsubishi, and added the "TS" from the middle and stuck it in front of the "Lander" portion of outlander. We all know how doggy this thing is off the line and the lack of power overall it has. It just seemed like a fitting name for the ride. Don't get me wrong, we really like the size and comfort, there's just things (on everything we have) that need improvements.
This is NO WAY a slam against Mitsu, just a comical parady on it's performance.

There area a couple of remote start / alarm systems on Amazon (or even the bay) that come with the proximity fobs and the start button.
I plan to it right where the little circle spot is on the right. My Sonata has it in that same spot, and I've gotten really used to just having the fob without a key stabbing me in the groin or the key ring clanging around on the collum.
Atleast with my car I can use my phone to call start it.
Got the Shi7zLander back from the dealer today. They replaced ALL 4 window seals and did it's first oil change.
They asked WTH was up with the new additional wording on the engine cover. lol

My wife told them she really wasn't happy with the power and that's just the name our daughter came up with for it. So now he's trying to get us a deal on the Outlander with the V6.
I think we'll keep it a year or 2 and then find a decent used Sante-Fe with the 2.0T motor.

I second that question... what happened to the seals? Rubber rot??
I'd put letters that say : "OutLaw Tortuga"
PS:
About the Sante Fe 2.0T, I'd hesitate on a 2 year old used turbo motor... Take a look at it brand new, the one we saw would vibrate while sitting idle, either it's not a well balanced motor or something is slack about the motor mounts or something else, but I can't imagine what that effect will be 2 years down the road. So, if you do get a used one JUST make sure you get it thoroughly checked out.

They were pealing away at the corners, not formed right or they got a bad batch of rubber. Maybe during shipment they got heated. Found a couple more that way on some of their lot ones as well.
I only went in about the drivers one, but they checked them all out and said lets replace them all just to be safe. Looks good now.
Will do.
I"ve got the 2.0T in my 13 Sonata and love it. Best NEW car I've bought since my 87 Supra.
It'll get modded like the car I'm sure. Our daughter will probably get this OS or trade it in for a Jeep.

Hmm.. I'll have to take a closer look at ours then. I did notice on our passenger side window's corner seal a bit "off" then what i remembered seeing in our previous O.sport.
Do you have any photos of your "peeled" seal?
