Actually love the smoke headlights looks good. brings it all together well with the blacked out nose. I actually plastidip'ed the chrome molding on the fog lights. its very esy to remove and coats easily if you would consider it.

Thanks Chris! Those headlight films are a PITA to get perfectly smooth. I've got some creases in them if you look up close. The next paint project is the chrome molding on the fogs and below the windows and wheels. I saw a pic of your plastidipped foglight housings and I like 'em! I've got some other projects up my sleeve as well

I tried the window trim this weekend.... hated it. Came out (in the best word selection possible...) like ****. i can suggest be patient. i would tape a little above the trim on the rubber porton and a little below the bottom (a in pastidipping the car) the seam will naturally cut the dip.

taping help:

end result: look good from far... but far from good..

Not a problem. Im not one to boast just about a successful install. we have to share what trouble we run into as well; even something as simple as plastidip.

The issue is that the chorme sits inside the rubber, unlike my ralliart it sat on top of the rubber so it was simple to have the plastidip cut away on the seam. thats not the case here. the dip binds together with the rubber dip and creates a jagged edge. I thought of an exacto knife but than you run the risk of cutting the rubber. Vinyl may be best, but the finishing may run the same coure of a not so clean edge.

I agree that's got to cut the light output a ton, but the OEM HID's are pretty bright stock, so I'd guess he still has more light than most cars from the 90's or early 00's with faded halogen headlamps.

That said, I think it's stupid to intentionally lower your light output by any amount. But damn does it look good.
