CVT Whine, Overheating Message
CVT Whine, Overheating Message
I've noticed the whine of the CVT more lately than usual. Then today i'm on my way to work cruising around 80ish and get a message that the trans is overheating and to slow down. So i do, going down to 70, and about 10 minutes later stop at a gas station. Let the car sit for about 5 minutes, turn it on, and the message is still there. Any thoughts? The temp outside was 78f according to the display.

2. Then check to see if you have a blockage or damage to the CVT Cooler, located on the driver side fog lamp area.
3. Lastly, at 42K ODO it may be time to do this (thanks to Outie11 for the original info share.) >

So, since you are over 30K+, I think what Outie11 found out would be very relevant in your case.
KEEP US POSTED.
Good luck.
