weird cutout in floor...

Hello all, new to the forum. Just purchased a new 2014 OS, and so far love it. But I noticed a weird cutout in the back, between the rear and front seat... Right where the rear floor mat ends. It's perforated, almost as if an optional component can be installed. I can see inside it at one spot, and I just see painted metal. Any idea what this is or what it's meant to be?

LouiePolo,
Welcome to the forum.

Not weird at all..
It's the cutout for the Rockford Fosgate Subwoofer Amp > That's where it mounts.
(For those of us who op-ed for the Premium package with upgraded sound system.)
