Colour Coding ASX Bumpers & Grill - Help Please

I need some help/advice please guys...
I have a black 2011 ASX4 and need to complete the mods that I have done so far to the exterior...which are:
- Lowered on Eibach springs
- Debadged the rear, driver and passenger doors
- Tinted the rear lower reflectors and side indicators
- I have a set of 20” Soleil LXN-1 wheels coming this week too

What I would like to do is get rid of the chrome on the grill surround and the Mitsu badge. I guess I would need to colour match the front and rear bumpers and the side skirts too in order to achieve a uniform look
What I need help in doing is deciding on the best way to do this and need some help please
1. Do I wrap the bumpers/grill/skirts in a satin black finish like on a Black Edition?
2. Do I buy Black Edition bumpers/skirts/grill? If so can anyone advise where from or part numbers from Mitsubishi
3. Do I plasti dip them? If so should I remove the body kit first or do it while fitted (assuming I was to attempt this myself)? If I was to spray the grill it looks to me like I would be spraying the radiator too as that sits behind the mesh
4. Buy a black grill surround that matches the current black plastic colour? Are these even for sale anywhere??

At the moment I am thinking of plasti dipping the lot but any feedback would be most welcome please. I have looked everywhere to see if anyone has posted a thread detailing what to do or if anyone has bought any of the parts but I am not having much luck so far

Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions

Cheapest and easiest method would be to plasti-dip it. Get a piece of cardboard and put it between the grill and the radiator to protect it from over spray.

Thanks for the reply. I think I might have even found a place that would plasti dip it for me and seems to be a decent price too.
I'd rather pay someone and get it right first time than spend a fair bit on buying cans of the stuff and it not turning out too special
I'll get some pics up once it's all complete

Nice wheels. I saw a similar one the other day. With a few pieces of chrome (like around the front grill) it looked very Audi-like. How hard was it to debadge? I am thinking of doing that to mine then adding the chrome MITSUBISHI letter on the rear hatch (like Range Rover)

Thanks. i think it really sets the car off now. i am not a fan of the chrome, i defintely will be getting rid of it at some point. i like the look of the Black Edition so I am also on the hunt for the bumpers and grill

debadging was quite easy really. it just took a lot of time to do. i took all of the badges on the rear off inc. the Mitsubishi badge. i also removed the ASX4 badges either side of the fron doors and i think it wtook me about 3 hours in total.
i got a bottle of Goo Gone from eBay and put some around the badges and left it sink in for a bit, then got the wife's hairdryer and heated up small areas for about 15 seconds until i could feel it wiggle a bit. Then used dental floss to get behind the badge and slowly work it off. i just kept using more heat and more liquid to work it off. there was some sticky stuff left behind in some parts and i just used my nails to get it off - that was the time consuming part. there were a couple of scratches on the body work but nothing a bit of T Cut didnt get out! all in all i was very pleased considering it was my first time doing it too

I also have a black car and am not so fond of the chrome grill either. I would have liked some contrast though and experimented with plastidip to change the front look. The black surround is available either through the dealer or on ebay and would look like this:

I also tried gunmetal grey plastidip that has quite bit of contrast in direct light but blends in when the lighting is not direct. They looked like these:

What you see above is after two Canadian winters, so the plastidip held up reasonably well.
The latest version is here with silver plastidip. (I wanted some contrast). In all cases I also applied a glossifier on top of several coats. If you wish to have a satin look you may wish to skip this.

I apologize for the quality of the images. They were intended to document a progress only and were not prepared for web posting.

The silver matches well. Or you could go crazy and use yellow. I saw a gun metal Audi that had the logos and some chrome in orange!

Those wheels look really nice. I would be interested in two kinds of feedback though:
1. How is the ride? Where I live it would be very harsh (that is why I am on 16" wheels/tires both winter and summer) .
2. How much worse is the fuel economy? You may not care since your ASX is most likely a diesel.

Buddy of mine went from 16s to 20s. Regretted it due to the ride quality. I don;t think the RVR is a supple ride to start with. And FORGET using 20" low profiles in the snow. If you go 20s for summers, go 17 or 18 for snows. On my Pathfinder we have 18 summer and 16 for winters. The latter saves a ton of cash and is better traction. The tire shop guys said they recommend 17s or 18s to the 20-inch wheel crowd. Go price some tires and you will see what was meant.
