Question: roof rack

I have the OS with the black rails on the roof. Mitsubishi wants 300 for the cross bars.

I have checked Thule and our cars require the 460R podium foot pack and the aeroblade 47". The audi q5 uses the same.

Will the q5's factory crossbars fit the OS?
I have found a few sets on craigslist for under $100.

Any input?

This is what the stock audi q5's look like.

Could you post a pic of your current roof set up. Wondering if you have the bars or the factory mount points that is hidden under a black strip.

This is what i currently have.

I just purchased the car this past saturday and they promised me the cross bars.. Then they broke their promise because they did something funky to get me out of my negative equity with my old car and took away my cross bars

I like the color. Sorry to say that the dealer I bought from also didnt live up to some promises on a cargo liner. Instead gave me a used cargo net without hardware. You may be able to find a universal rack mount. Depending on what you carry and how often. Universal mounts sometimes arent the most secure fit. autoanything.com may have a deal and they usual seem to have a coupon to use. check on the website for the exact oem part for one with factory rails then search for that part on ebay. I have the factory mount points, opposite of what you have. I paid 250 shipped for the oem bars from a dealer in floridd using ebay. That was $100 cheaper than the local dealer could get me.

Thanks, i did check ebay and found the oem crossbars from a dealer in florida too that were a much better price. I was just wondering if the Audi ones would fit since i found them dirt cheap. I should just stick to oem for quality.

AFAIK Thule makes the Mits OEM racks. So stock Thu;e should work. You could always ask Thule.

You can try to find the diamter of the oem bars on the outlander sport and the Audi and see how they compare. Might want to check width of the crossbars to make sure as well. Or what I would do is send the person a message and tell them your interested but not sure if they will fit and ask if you can mount them on the*vehicle to test fitment? That will ensure they fit and have all the hardware you need. You can check fitment quality like if it mounts securely and isn't defective.

And If you decide to go check out and try installing the Audi bars on your OS make sure to snap a few pictures of how it fits and keep everyone updated.

Complete Roof Rack System with Standard Bars

Standard bars give you nearly endless mounting options

  • With flush factory roof rails
  • Part #: 460/LB50/KIT4017
  • Crossbar width: 50 in.
  • Max. foot spacing = 32 inches
  • Weight limit = 165 lbs.
  • Due to rack placement and configurations, some of the larger cargo carriers may hinder the ability to open the rear hatch completely.
This is what is listed for the thule mounts for the flush factory bars that you have on a 2015 os

So you can ask him for those measurements. If its close that would be worth the drive to go try to fit them on your sport. I didnt see right off hand the length of any q9 bars. the foot spacing is the important factor here. You can measure the distance from the outside of each bar on you roof and ask him to measure what the feet are fully extended out from outside to outside.
