Weathertech vs. Mits Floor Mats

I'm not in the market for floor mats sine I have the Weathertech ones, but I was at the dealer's yesterday and noticed they have a front/rear set for an OS/RVR for $149 bucks. WT is $227. Anyone ever compare them? The OEM looked decent.

I have the OEM all season mats and they're really nice.

Yeah, kinda what I thought. Had I stumbled across the ones in the dealer I would have bought the set. $75 bucks less for what looks like a comparable mat set.

I thought the weathertech ones had higher borders and contained spills better?

are we talking in comparison to the Digitalfit Weathertech mats? they make several styles of floormats.

the small crappy pics of factory mats i've seen dont look like they'd offer as much coverage/protection.

i have the mitsu floormats that they threw in on the deal, in comparison the weather tech do offer more protection, they have higher side walls, if i were to buy a set i would go for the weather tech over the mitsu.

if you do get Weathertechs, get their spray cleaner and protectant, too.

i've scrubbed the living hell out of the ones on my Evo, but they still had embedded dirt stains on them. the Weathertech cleaner finally got them clean.

i did read that foaming glass cleaner works, too, but i'll try that when i run out of the Weathertech stuff.

I already have the Weathertech mats, and truth be told, I don't think the Weathertech Mits RVR ones are as good as others I have/had. There are some design flaws. As for cleaners, I use the vinyl cleaner for my boat and they look new. All those specialty mfg. cleaners are a ripoff IMHO.

I guess the point of my original post was just to see what others thought of the OEM mats. Frankly for ~$100 US for a set of four, I'd have gone that way had I seen them. Don't get me wrong - the WTs are great but they could be much better. BTW I did send my comments to WT; got a nice form letter response.

They fit great in my Evo and '15 OS - my only complaint would be that the OS mat covers the entire dead pedal, instead of only coming up halfway. I think the Evo one is covered completely, if I remember right. Oh, and the price is way too high for what probably amounts to pennies worth of plastic.

I have an entire wall of car care products and nothing seemed to work on the ground-in dirt stains ... although foaming glass cleaner is probably the only thing I DIDN'T try.

Well, I'm not buying anything new - based on how much I used of the Weathertech stuff to do both vehicles, I should have a bunch left over long after the cars are gone.

LOL. I get it. FWIW I've had great luck with the entire Meguiar's line. I do use a couple specialty products like Rejex and 303 too.

Also a fan of Meguiar's. An OCD detailer gave me a tip: put on Meguiar's NXT synthetic wax and let it sit for 24 hours before removing - acts as a sealant.

For leather (don't have it on the OS), Leatherique Rejuvenator and Prestine Clean is the best. Made some hard old Porsche seats like soft butter. It's pricey, but the big bottles lasted me 10 years. Still have a little left - for our Mitsu's steering wheels and shifters, and Evo seat trim. LOL

I'll investigate those leather products but I love Lexol. http://www.lexol.com/ Especially the cleaner. That stuff is astounding. Mother's Leather Conditioner is pretty good, too.
