I have made some time ago a set just like the one you pictured from the mesh I use to protect my fog lights and painted it with plastidip (gunmetal grey was the color that time of my grill surround). I did not like it because it breaks up the "mouth" to multiple segments (top two parts, the center cross bar, the lower part, and on the 11 and 12 model years the curved upper black solid plastic above the crossbar). In my opinion the look is slightly better on the 13+ model years. I would embrace a one piece Audi RS type grill that would cover the entire trapezoidal opening (jetfighter mouth). If you like it, you might want to check out other designs featured in the images below as well. The first one is from Europe, so the shipping might be expensive, the second one is available for (US$ 69) from ebay now:

As you expressed interest to a chrome grill surround check out this ebay item (the price (US $ 79) is way more appealing that the dealer's price):

Thanks - I was more curious than anything. I went with the Audi look - blacked out the center horizontal bar. Looks great IMHO. I thought about he chrome trim but it looks like a PITA to install.

How about silver plastidip + glossifier? This is what I have now.

I thought about doing that... might get around to it one day. It does look pretty cool with just a black and white front end.

Started removing the rear emblems today. Off came the MITSUBISHI name and the AWC emblems. Might move the AWC emblem to under the RVR lettering. Still have the diamonds (will likely replace with the large letters a la LAND ROVER). Still undecided about the RVR letters but they might get replaced with the Cyrillic version (backwards first R) if I get around to ordering it. I was surprised how easily the letters came off and there is no colour change underneath - surprised me for an almost 5 year old car. A little rubbing alcohol removed the glue and a quick claybar/wax treatment and you can't tell they were ever there.

I finally found the one I made and just tied up with some wires for showing. It can be painted or plastidipped to any color.

Nice job! I think I will leave mine black though. Not that I don't care for the chrome trim ring though.

How about this? Unfortunately it is not commercially available but can serve as an idea to make a similar one (1:00-1:10 in the video):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hyR2U96XZI

I've had my eye on that one piece mesh grille for awhile now. I can't find anywhere else that sells one like it though. Haven't convinced myself to spend that much money on something from a website I can't even read haha xD
