Hey all -- I just figured I'd mosey on over here and take a gander as to what EvoM has to offer.
As the title states, I just picked up a 2012 Outlander Sport SE with CVT and I dont know dick about it.
A bit of my history -- I own a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 - its got basic mods on intake and exhaust ends etc etc.. you dont care bout that
My wife has a 97 Eclipse GS - the thing has been a trooper, to say the least.
Anyway - I'm not new to modifying cars - I'm not new to forums - I'm not new to the Search function on forums - But I am new to this Outlander and I just have a few basic questions about it.
Question 1 - We have the panoramic roof and its freakin awesome - the one thing that has me confused, though, is the little console on the headliner that has the button to move the roof shade. It has these little vent things, but there's nothing really behind those vents. Are there supposed to be lights in there?
Question 2 - We dont have the sat nav - just the regular head unit. Would a stock sat nav from a used outlander sport be able to be transplanted into my car without modification? plug n play?
Question 3 - I saw a thread somewhere about timing belts/timing chains -- Any idea what I have? its the 4b12 - so i'm guessing timing chain?
Anyway, I look forward to being a part of this community -- Any help that you can provide me would be great
question 3: yes you can install the oem nav into your OS, you need one from an 11-13 OS, p/n is 8750A238 you can also do a search of that part number on ebay as well. you would also need the "install kit" MZ360321EX which includes the dash kit plus all the extra wiring required to install it. its plug and play, once installed have to go to dealer to have it "programmed/activated in your etacs ecu"
question 4: you have the 4b11 which is 2.0 the OS didnt get the 2.4 4b12 until 15 models. and both engines use a timing chain
Question1 : i was wondering the same thing the other day! i assume one is for the microphone for the voice control, but the other two ... ??? too high to be temp sensors.

Thats great news - thanks for the p/n's as well - I'll definitely be checking into those in the near future

Thanks for the link - I wish I didn't have to use the iOS hotspot in order for it to connect to my iphone -- or maybe i just didnt read the description well enough. Either way - Its good to have the option! especially with the whole trim piece.

So i took the part in question off the roof - i literally just pulled and it came off -- there is an empty plug where it looks like something was supposed to go there? Obviously the button that dims the runner lights is plugged in, but that's all there is. weird!
