the Girls 17 OS & mods.
So after some time getting the girls 17 broke in, it's time to start on some perf. mods. Just a couple RRM pulleys for both her 2.4 OS, and the wifes 14 OUtlander 2.4.
My 16 Outlander has been running the RRM aluminum pulley and timing controller for 2yrs now with NO issues at all. So the increased throttle response and smoother running by getting rid of the drag on the rotating assembly is going on both of the other vehicles. Really impressed with the 2.4 on the RRM simple bolt on or plug N play mods. My 2.4 model Outlander is much quicker than the V6 GT model and the newer Sonata 2.4 sedan. (Was not impressed after a test drive for a new daily commuter)
Now It'll just be when I've got time to get them both installed. Should only take and hour or so to get them both done, it takes longer to get the car setup on a stand and get the wheel off then it does to change out the pulley. lol.

Got the Pulley installed today. Super easy!!!!! It literally takes longer to get the vehicle set on a jack stand (just one side is needed) and get the wheel off and remove 7 of the pop clips that hold on an access panel to let you get to the crank pulley / bolt.. I used a 14mm wrench and another box end wrench on the open end of the 14mm to get some leverage and room to move the belt out of the way. I just pull off the old pulley and slip on the new one with my free hand and get the belt back on all in one shot.
My girl and I installed her pulley and the one on mama's 14 Outlander today out in the back yard while the weather is nice. Now she's ready to head off to college next month.
Mods so far,,,, RRM Pulley, solid strut tower bar, Curt hitch and rain guards. Still got window tint and some stripping / decals, before we start thinking about all terrain tires.
just like my 16 Outlander, throttle response is much improved and starting / running is much smoother. Lil pep is noticeable too.
I'd add some pics (got one of the girl installing the crank bolt after we put it on. but it's no different than the pics in my "Galactica" thread on another Mitsu forum.

Edit: Is this the brace that you have? It looks identical.

Finally got the girl off to college. She really enjoyed the trip in OS. She ended up taking a few new students to the local store and said they commented on cool the Mits was.
We caravan'd up together in the wifes 14 Big O., I can really notice a difference in the 2.4's performance / smoothness with the new pulley on it. AVG MPG's are up slightly on the hywy, but they are much better in town.

So we had the girl home this weekend from college and switched out her new tires. She's now sporting 225/60R18's. Got some slightly aggressive Lion Sport tires off flee bay, but the price was right and the girl reports back that the ride is much nicer and comfortable than the stockers. They are probably the tallest tires you'd want to run stock suspension wise.
One of the best things I did was to check out the tire size calculator on tirebuyer. Google tire size calculator and you'll find one, but I like this one because it shows a physical difference in the tire size dimensions.
Here's some pics of the tire differences.

Yes, the extra 11 mm side wall height (135 mm vs the stock 124 mm, sorry for metric reference) adds extra cushion to your suspension. The speedometer inaccuracy is not substantial, so it is an acceptable choice. I run 215/70 R16 tires on my car (I should rather say that I opted for the trim that came with this wheel size) with 151 mm side wall height and the ride compared to the stock 18" configuration is night and day here where I live (the long winter takes a toll on the roads and potholes are part of our daily reality these days). The tall side profile also prevents my wheels from curb damage as the 151 mm side wall profile elevates them above the side walk edge.
