I am so glad I bought my Outlander Sport 5-speed manual base ES last Saturday!! When I went to RC HILL Mitsubishi Saturday they had 2 of them left a grey one and a white one. I ALMOST DIDNT GO because they are almost 175 miles away BUT there are so few 5-speed manuals left out there I figured I better go. So I did and came home with the silver one.
Today I found out the last 5-speed manual they had got sold Sunday. Had I waited I bet the one I took I would have been sold by now.
I love the 5 speed the CVT is horrible I didn't like it, BUT the 5-speed is a real easy manual to drive!!
I think the OS is under-rated. I like it a lot and the warranty is great. They are NOT making 5-speed manuals for 2020 and there are very few 5-speed manuals left. I did not like the CVT it is loud. and revs horribly when you get near 60 mph. so, if you want a 5 speed, you need to hurry. I bought mine Saturday and the white one I almost bought ( the last 5 speed there at RC Hill is also gone it sold Sunday) I am glad I didn't procrastinate because I would have to try to find another one and its slim pickings for 5 speeds.
It won't be long now (I'm thinking less than 30 days) all the 5 speeds will be gone. The 5 speed is so nice to drive. It's a Mitsubishi manufactured 5 speed (It's the only transmission they still make themselves) and what a joy it is to drive. The difference between the CVT and the manual transmission is like two completely different vehicles. Smooth shift linkage with excellent gear selection and no vagueness or sloppy gear changes. Hands down the nicest manual transmission I've ever owned. I wasn't originally in the market for a OS but once I heard the official news it was now or never. Once these are gone that will be it.

I totally agree with you inuvik. The only thing I need to get used to is 5 th gear. My Subaru had a 6-speed and when you went into 6th, you shifted straight down from 5th and there was no mistaking what gear you are in just by looking at the shifter. On the OS, 3rd, and 5th are next to each other and I have a couple of times had to check to see if I did shift into 5th? I did of course, but 3 and 5th gear are close to ea other so looking at the shifter you can't be sure if you are in 3rd or 5th. Of course, there is a big difference lol,
its just s VERY SMALL pet peeve but 100% nothing that would prevent me from buying it. I really like the Outlander Sport. very much.
