2018 Bumper on a 2017 OS

Hey all, so my OS was involved in a rear accident and the bumper (among other things) were smashed up. I found a used 18 bumper on ebay which was the same color and liked the styling of the 18 rear end way better, so after lots of image comparisons i went for it. After I got it in, it fits perfectly! There wasn't anything I needed to change with the exception being that the stock mudflaps don't fit which is fine for me since it looks better without them. So for anyone interested in a upgrade in the looks department the 18 bumper will fit a 17.

Looks good! Good to know it was a easy fix and no modification was necessary. There are some advantages in having a model like the OS be basically the same for 10+ years.

For sure! I was thinking about replacing the grill and everything up front with an 18 as well.

Man, congratulations on the find, and it certainly looks a heck of a lot better!; I prefer having the gate without the chrome trim (which looks like a tack on), and without the fake gills on the fenders. Now I'm sure I'll do that to my 2015!!!!

And yes, I'll leave the front end as is, since I think I'm the only fan of the "Yawning Shark look"!!!!!😂😂😂

Again, congrats and hope you can have your truck back good as new (or even better)!!

Thanks! I'm using this as an excuse to do the upgrades I wanted lol like this bumper and the led taillight upgrade (still waiting on those though) helps my wife not get mad if it needs replaced anyway.

Yes, I'm looking forward to hearing about your LED tail light install. Wondering if it will be true plug and play or whether resistors will be necessary.

Me too actually. I've seen them installed on a couple other posts and some say plug and play while others say they thrown and error if they don't have resisters. They are coming from china so they be here when they get here lol

For anyone interested in the tail lights from AliExpress I just installed them on my 17. These ones came with resistors already installed so no worries about hyper flashing. These one also don't throw any errors. Now I wouldn't exactly categorize them as plug and play since connecting the reverse light section to the brakes what a pain. Other than that they are an exact fit and we will see how they hold up!

The Canbus system on Mitsubishi's seem to be VERY particular about electrical load. The tough part is how much resistance you need to add in to the electrical system to fool Canbus.

I'm not sure what happened or if it was anything I had even done but the error went away. I popped off both lights and plugged them back in and while driving around the light turned off and error went away. NO IDEA lol. The only thing I can think is I took off the panel with the Traction Control button on it and unplugged it to paint the plastic and it might have come unseated? I reseated that as well as disconnecting the lights so who knows. I wont be surprised if it comes back though lol.
