So, I have this OEM Rockford Fosgate 10" subwoofer that I'd like to remove. Today, I removed the 8 x Philips screws that hold the grill on, thinking that maybe I'd be able to pull the subwoofer out, but that wasn't the case. The sub would not come out for nothing.
Has anyone upgraded their factory sub, and if so, how did you remove it?
Is the OEM enclosure capable of housing a replacement sub?
Am I better off cutting the panel and inserting something like this? Custom Box

 

The foam gasket tape is probably acting like an adhesive. Need to pry it loose.
