To put DVD's on ipods you have to convert it to an H.264 format. There a few that do it for free but are slow. Quicktime Pro does it but you have to buy it. I am cheap and just got a key generator for the trial version

I haven't checked in almost a year so maybe there is a better solution out. Regardless they take H.264 format (mpeg 4 I believe).

I see I see I'm poor do I qualify lol. You can dl the movies online also. I'm not quite sure as I don't have any movies but itunes converted one of my videos for the gtr on the ring by itself. But since it's on a different computer it won't let me connect and dl stuff to it.
