RR 9 on I5 going north in the tualatin to tigard area. He was driving like he was in the insane asylum. seriously, he probably pissed off every single person on the road near him and tailgated me to try to get me to race, but nope, not doing it. Engine still breaking in on my X

Sounds like a kid picked it up for cheap. Kinda takes the allure of owning an evo away...

i was testing my new car audio setup tonight and heard a loud popping on the freeway near terwilliger on i5 so i pulled off into some neighborhood to check my trunk. i think it was just an exhaust backfire, but where i pulled off it was totally by chance that an 8 or 9 just drove by as i just got back into my X. not sure who it was but if they're on here say something!

Yah, the X kinda does that popping.

I saw someone from the Army driving a silver 8 or 9 (didn't see the front) on 205 south coming back from getting re-tuned. Had CA plates. Thanks for the wave. My wife wants your car.

its kind of a fun game to spot evos of any kind, since it seems that they're pretty rare around these areas.

yea as for that popping it was SUPER loud, like a gunshot almost. then it happened again in downtown portland to which everyone looked at me for having it happen. i should add i was in sport mode for both times it popped

also migs, no i did not "break" my mr chrome lower window belt line moldings. what do you take me for? i'm a freakin installer . the black ones are teh sex!

Hah, right on. I was just going off of what others did. I haven't personally tried to take them apart, but I heard of others breaking them ;p.

they are made of metal, i dont see how others could be breaking them unless they are completely mindless. i should have made a tutorial but if you really need help if you ever do it i could show you how. the chrome ones are made MUCH nicer btw, as the blacks are just straight up plastic and rubber, and also clip on differently.

I think I'm just going to put vinyl on them. It's cheap as hell and will match the external pillars.

^yea much cheaper if you didnt work out a deal with the stealership. the way the rubber is on the metal stock ones is annoying or i would have taken the rubber off and had mine powdercoated, but then again im not one to be cheap but im also not one to go expensive either
