I would keep the videos to yourself for now. If nothing comes of it with legal pursuit then post them later

No I don't. I'd love to see them but you need professional help immediately and should not take ANY chances. Take a few days off and get your ducks in a row, write out your affidavits, collect all the evidence you can and back it all up in multiple hidden and secure locations. Get some experienced, credible and fearless representation.

PS. Worst case scenario... what will you do if you are raided by a SWAT team? Think it through and be ready for the worst.

Running is never a good idea. Why didn't you put your hands up when you were in the car at the gas station to show you were unarmed?
Arguing with law enforcement, also not a good idea.
Clearly you were doing something that was sending the wrong signal to the Federal officers or they wouldn't have flipped out on you.
Get a lawyer if you want to play armchair attorney.
I would be willing to bet you're running illegal parts on your car. You going to get into it with local law enforcement? Ever thought about them impounding your ride just to **** with you for having off road use only parts?

I'm not taking sides here, but your story makes you sound like a hot head. Cops don't like people that are hot headed.

Glad no one was hurt!

and we all know that cops are never hot headed.

he ran from some ******* road-rager who was brandishing a gun, rather than sitting around waiting to be shot. ASSuming his story is accurate, he did the right thing.

I see your point.

If the guy with the firearm wasn't in fact law enforcement, then that does in fact change things. Fleeing the scene is probably the best course of action.

That being said, if it was clear that they were law enforcement or a federal agent of some kind, I would assume that you want to show intent.

However, the fact that it was an obvious caravan does beg the question as to whom they might be, instead of just some random person 'road raging' as you have stated. I would have ventured to guess that it was either; Private security (the behavior makes that seem even more likely), secret service or federal agents.

UMADBRO?

I'm not connected to law enforcement, the government or any other federal entity whatsoever. Nor have I taken any criminal justice courses or have an interest in said subject. I'm simply offering up anecdotal thoughts. This is an open forum, correct? I'm guessing you've never tangled with law enforcement before?

sorry my first instinct like urs isn't to sit there and get took like some *****. I did the smart thing. If my lawyer didn't say to take this down you sure would look very stupid right now. Your comment is completely stupid, full of bad information, misleading and pathetic. Considering I have a such a strong case my lawyer is going to do for free, but you're such a genious, so I should have listened to you captain hindsight.

No wonder you think police treat you guys like ****. Please, be more entitled.

Someone disagrees with your course of action and you get butthurt over it? I didn't know moderators weren't allow to have their own opinion and instead had to post with the same opinion as whatever topic they are posting in.

UMADBRO? [MORE LIKE MILDLY IRRITATED]

you guessed wrong.

i know three things to keep in mind when dealing with police:
1. yes, sir.
2. no, sir.
3. three bags full, sir.

Oh wait. I know one other thing...

we face a growing problem of police militarization, overuse of swat teams and a lack of accountability. in the name of "officer safety" we have come to accept the gunning down of family pets. the kicking in of the wrong door and shooting of unarmed occupants as utterly routine and unworthy of concern.

http://reason.com/blog/2012/08/10/st...wrong-door-rai
http://www.theagitator.com/2011/01/1...or-sal-culosi/
http://www.theagitator.com/2012/08/1...-raid-roundup/

There are 1600 swat actions per year in MD. And how do we know this? MD legislature had to pass a law FORCING LE to disclose it.

If you were unaware of this, well, now you're not. If it doesn't concern you, well, let's hope it stays that way.

didn't know insulting people and saying disrespectful things counted as a necessary opinion.

entitled to what?

entitled to not having your life threatened by angry road ragers?

entitled to an expectation that moderators who claim they're not taking sides actually aren't taking sides?

perhaps you are unfamiliar with firearms but pointing a firearm at someone is a direct and immediate threat to kill them and warrants an immediate self-defense response with equal or greater force. meaning that if you point a gun at me, I am perfectly justified in immediately shooting you repeatedly in your center of mass until you stop moving. that is what might have happened and, if it had, our friend here would most likely be facing murder charges and best case lose just 10 years of his life, just like Cory Maye:

Was that directed at me? That's funny.

I'm not saying that the police are all fine, upstanding gentlemen. I think it's a good thing that people are able to carry around cameras in their phones to capture the bad ones. I also think we as a freethinking society should keep a watchful eye on the people with power, in all forms of government.
