So what does everyone think about the first weekend of the new year? So that would be January 5th a Saturday.

That looks pretty good but you're making it hard on yourself. I've found that it's realllly hard to get good HDR shots when it's dark out. The software tries to bring back too much of the shadows and it makes the photo look really grainy and discolored. I would say go out during the day and try it out. I am currently trying to make a timelapse of Seattle though! Are you taking 3 pictures for each one?

I'm in for Jan. 5th, pending any last minute things.

As far as the HDR I was experimenting with the lights at night and the sunset (well cloud set since there's no sun in seattle). I have to find a place that would look cool for a daylight setting and have 3 hours to kill. And yes, 3 pictures each shot with 1 step between.

Dang that has to really add up your shutter count! Have you ever thought about doing an hdr out of one picture? Just put it in and make increase the exposure by one shot and decrease the exposure by one shot?

Yeah, i've tried it with one picture but I feel like it doesn't work out the same. You can't really bring in over exposed elements if the original picture doesn't have them. For example something that's really dark in the original picture will not show up through a photoshopped overexposure. But it does work decent.

Is that what you did for this shot?

I actually used 7 photos for that one. I think the program just had a hard time trying to work 7 photos together.. I couldn't seem to get the halos around the bridge to go away despite messing with the luminosity slider in photomatix. =/

A guy in Tacoma (patricksnapp.com) did a couple of mine that turned out nice.

The ones you've show here are beautiful and freakin sweet. Great location shots and a mix of perfect timing.

I'd be game if you don't already have a ton of cars volunteering

ShAngie is down. Just say where and when or you'll get stuck postponing it from trying to fit it on everyone's schedule. Haha.

I do a little shooting from time to time.

When mine is running again I'd be down for sure.
