Downpipe question

Hey guys, I have sort of a newb question for you, is the donut gasket on the downpipe supposed to act as a flex joint? I tightened the spring bolts down as much as I could and there's still some flex. I'm assuming this is normal but I just wanted to make sure.

Yes. It's suppose to be able to flex.

Yes, hence the spring loaded bolts. They basically sub for a flex joint in an exhaust, so yes they are supposed to flex a lil' bit.
