I might try to make it to this event if I'm not working.

 

I'm curious how is it specatating? Do you get up and close to the cars that are competing? Place to sit with shade etc?

 

Basically as long as you arent up in all of their business you can walk the pits and see all the cars up close. There is Vendor row, food, and then the timing area and bleachers so you can watch the finish line.

I'm going to spectate. Doubt my car will be ready to run hard by then.

 

Aaron, since you guys have done this before, which day would you suggest going to spectate?

 

What time where you thinking about passing through Portland? And are you just going Saturday? Feel free to PM me.

So I'm going to cruise down Saturday. Not sure of what time but anyone going that day keep me posted.

 

If you have to pick one day or the other I prefer Saturday since its all about top speed on saturday. Sunday is a roll race so the speeds are lower because of how the start has to be done (we lose runway). Most teams will be there for both days so you shouldnt miss out on the cars if you choose one day or the other.

We are sponsoring the event in conjunction with OB Prestige for the inaugural event so it would be cool if the NW can come out and show for this event. There is need for volunteers that are willing to work one or both days at the event. I will have more details for those that are interested.

Thanks for the heads up Aaron. I'll be there on Saturday, but not sure if I'll be able to volunteer at all. I'll talk to the wife about it though... would love to get more involved out here. If you got any specifics on what they need please let me know.

 

Hey man, I'll be coming through Saturday. Still not sure what time yet though, might be down there by like 0630-0700 depending on how long it takes to get to the airstrip once I cross the border and if I'm volunteering at all.
