Sorry can't see it well in that pic but is the dump tube still entering close to 90* or did you put a small angle on it?
Sorry to see all the extra fab work needed to get this to fit (down pipe etc) but it is to be somewhat expected when dealing with new turbos and the pumbing needed when goin TS...... I do hope you get a new DP shipped out as i'm a bit skeptical with the mod you did to the other..........hope it doesn't negatively affect performance greatly! |
That is still 90 deg.... if you want a slip joint and clearance that is how it must be...
So engineer from HATCH said it should not make a noticable difference as it is now. Even at 15 psi boost... I did re do that down pipe again today.

Each wastegate flow will impede with the other severely. Unfortunately, with the limited space you have coming up with a way to route the wastegates properly wont be easy. You will need to be more creative and come up with a more elaborate solution. In this case, its not the simple route that works best. |
the big question is if a slip join is required... between the gates.
|
I wouldnt run it without either a slip joint or a flex joint. Im going to be putting a flex joint on one of the sides and run them into a merge collector.
|
i think I got a way.... just finishing the radiator then I will dig in again at the dump pipe...
|
Hey acssa, since you have both a 8374 and a 7670, will you have the ability to test them both on the same engine/car? I'm really curious to see what the spoolup difference between these two is...

I think you can also unplug the crank sensor wich is close to the oil fill cap to crank without starting so that you dont have to pull the plugs.
less work i think If you don't pull the plugs the engine generates cranking pressure and the engine won't spin the oil pump at a high enough speed to build oil pressure to fill the lines. You have to pull the plugs. I just pull the fuse for the ignition and the injectors. |
You should pre-lube the turbo before installation. If you pre-lube it, and do as R/T Ernie suggests, you'll be fine with a BB turbo.
Don't think about scrimping and neglecting to pull the fuse for the injectors, or you will be spending hours cleaning your engine bay... |

Thats a whole lotta piping. LOL
|
What's the issue with just turning the wastegate down and using two separate pipes?
