If you really want to baby it, do your Evo a favor and never drive it in Chicago from Dec 1st, to Mar 1st. Also don't ever launch it, and always shift gears smooth and slowly. This way your 6 speed trany will last. These are my tips.
You picked up a really nice car.
So far i have been babying it and it only faced some snow here in chicago for its first winter lol. I rarely ever drive this car to the city and i always shift smoothly and slowly. But i gottta say, getting into second gear is not as smooth sometimes but i hear that is common from all evos. I also experience some clutch shuddering or juddering in the mornings, usually when the car is cold and ready to roll. But goes away after 1-2mins of driving. I also hear that is normal as well and that an excedy stage 1 HD twin clutch will reduce it? idk, it is what i have heard. I am planning on keeping it for a while and maintaining it as much as possible. I will be looking into getting 2-3g car for the winter times so that way the evo never sees snow again :D
