Lol thats funny Joe! I think the confusion is that the pic you showed is a RHD evo not LHD. What side is your steering wheel on Sean? Might have to pull the motor again depending...

Its just a mirror image? Or maybe I don't get the joke..

heel2toe Sep 10, 2018 01:49 PM

Lol sarcasm ;) We all know its a mirror image, the writing on the VC is sorta a dead giveaway, incase you were thinking otherwise.

Or maybe this is how he accomplished a push to pull conversion with his clutch?

looking good! I have never seen heat sinks like that, looks pretty interesting. I assume they are made of copper by the finish?

Its a TRE billet alum 4th gear oiling enhancement. Heres a full thread on it

Thats dope, never seen that before. Thanks for the info. The wife will be pleased to hear i have new things to add to the list

Yeah, those are the brain child of Jon at TRE. Billet aluminum anodized orange. They have a nice big and strong rare earth/neodymium magnet on them on the inside. The transmission one has an oil splash guide plate to direct the oil splash off of the reverse idler onto 4th gear to improve it's life, and it has NPT fittings to plumb a trans cooler.

Not sure if I mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but the tcase has as wavetrac LSD in it. And for the ratios in the trans I went with Evo8 1-3, custom straight cut double synchro 1:1 ratio 4th gear, Evo 9 5th, and 4.31:1 final drive. The rear diff is also a fully optioned TRE built unit.

The oil filter is a Canton full pass cartridge filter. And you can see the STM sealed catchc an off the front of the trans. I opted for the dual port version (one 10an line off of valvecover, and a 6an line from the balance shaft inspection port) to help vent the crank case as much as possible and keep the FP ball bearing CHRA happy. I also went with an STM 10an drain line setup for the turbo, and welded a 10an fitting to the pan. No more pesky gaskets and o-ring washers lol
