Tim, we went over this in October.... if you have the whole SS dampers kit you're replacing everything. The springs are wound completely around the strut- you don't even HAVE upper spring perches anymore. The only thing you need to use is the upper MOUNT <--- The thing with the bolts sticking out of it that you use to bolt the strut to the car.

Who are these people that keep telling you this? I want names! I want to know how many of them have actually installed the dampers. I know for a fact they must be talking about the s TECH springs not the Super Street dampers.

No- coilovers are not dampers.

The damper is the "strut" or "shock". Struts are shocks that are part of the suspension- like the front struts on our cars. Shocks are just along for the ride, like in the rear of the car. Dampers stop the spring from oscillating (bouncing up and down).

Coilovers are simply springs that act like a sleeve over the damper and generally have a very high "spring rate".... in other words, it takes a lot to compress them, and they push back on the car really hard. if you were to run coilovers on your stock dampers, you'd have the harshest ride available and you would actually LOSE performance because the damper can't stop the spring from oscillating very effectively. That Civic that did a flyby on you while you were stuck in traffic on the freeway and was bouncing all over the place? He's got springs that are too strong for his dampers and his ride rides like crap and looks like crap.

With the Tein's they have dampers that are matched to thier coilovers. The damping force of the struts is matched to the oscillation of the springs for a very neutral, very controllable, suspension.

I really wanna get rid of the springs- I'm tired of looking at them. No shipping charge on the springs if you live in the US. If you're Canadian, all you have to do for shipping is include a note that says you'll take care of any brokerage fees, should they occur.

Can't do a free shipping deal if you want springs, perches and struts, though.... but we'll work something out.
