Not to hate on, or hijack this thread or anything... I bought the same exact Sony Vaio laptop almost a year ago for $300 still in perfect condition. It even had an upgraded harddrive from the 5 GB that came in it to a 30 GB. The guy even put a stick of 512 ram and loaded Windows XP on it before he sent it to me. I think with a 500mhz processor and a busted screen you will be lucky to get the $150 with shipping included. BTW, do you have a good battery? I need just the battery for mine since the other has gone bad on me.

Yes, I believe that it is the same exact laptop. It has a tag under the screen that says PCG-F540. The only differance I see is that in your pics the laptop does not have the same purple color mine does. One thing to look out for, Sony used three different companies for the LCD displays on these laptops. So if you are replacing the display, you first need to find out which company was used for your laptop. If I remember correctly, the companies are Hitachi, Samsung, and of course Sony.

thats not new and sony does not make LCD screens

 

who sed anything about new? and yea sony makes lcd LAPTOP screens thats y wen u squeze a cracked one u can see the liquid coming out of the crack
