DUDE, this is not a rip off. I finished my install of my carputer last month and it is running the same motherboard and cpu. It is a very reasonable deal.
Check out my install in the show and shine section if you like.
next is possibly Utec

i really want this unit... but i'm having difficulty finding a motorized touch screen tft for it

You wont' find a motorized unit yet. The closest thing you will find is at www.digitalww.com. When I put my computer together he was working on a motorized unit, but that was a 2 or 3 year project and I think he is still working on it.

This is a great price for anybody that jumps on it. I have over 1500 invested in mine which shares almost the same components as this.

what are other options for a touch screen? how would you mount the screen within the center console?

If you click on the link I posted you will see the options this guy has listed. He has a mechanical folding 7" touch screen kit, and this is the one I am currently using with a liliput 7" screen. You could also just mount the liliput or xenarc screen in the dash, but that would take a custom fiberglass setup and you would have to find room for your heater/ac controls.

ebay sells motorized in dash 7" & 8" touch screen's for around the $200-$300 dollar range.. some cheaper, but *gasp* noname! fr33 bump!
