well actually it just got lowered to 4800, or 400 a month, WOW!! still way too much, and i have 2 yrs to go. so, it would prob be better off to sell , since I will have paid more for the insurance than the car by the time the loan is up. Hope everything goes better for u bc my ticket is from Ga.
oh yeah, my driving record only has 1 ticket on it, but although i should have been set free, I was made to carry sr-22 insurance for 3 yrs. Funny how its been 4 yrs this month since that ticket.
shiiiiit. $400/month is NOTHING.
I currently pay $512/month (and I have a 120hp OZ-Rally, and I'm 23 years old).
I did it to myself though. SR22, Wreckless driving, Aggressive driving, Failure to stop for police vehicles, and 1 or 2 speeding tickets (Not all in one day, over a 2 year period). I also have a car payment of $277/month ontop of that $512/month. That doesn't include rent, school, etc, etc, etc. Also, I have the LOWEST full coverage available (10k,30k,10k). And before anyone asks.... YES, I have learned my lesson... I am like a grandmother beind the wheel now.
Btw, I used to drive a 2001 Camaro SS with 440-whp, and just about every suspension component replaced or modified. Needless to say, I can't insure that anymore. I'm going to scan in my current insurance policy so you can all look at it and not feel too bad about your $400/month insurance on Evos. Sometime seeing someone elses pain makes yours feel a little less.

P.S. I am gunna go scan my policy in right now... I will post pics of the scan in about 20-30 minutes.

Ok, I just scanned in my current policy. I hope this makes you and anyone else with high insurance feel better.
This is my current policy with Titan. 6 month Policy. $554 down, $512/month for 5 months. Keep in mind, this is a N/A 2.0L 4door 4cyl OZ Rally
This next scan is what PROGRESSIVE wanted to charge me. Granted, this quote is with much higher coverage... their both full coverage, but this progressive has a $1,000,000 umbrella, which is what I was used to... can't afford that anymore. $758 down, $733/month.

SR-22 is basically an "open line" of communication between your insurance company, and the state MVD.
Basically you pay your insurance company extra money in order for them to take calls from the MVD regaurding your account. When you buy insurance with an SR22, your insurance comapny calls the MVD and notifies them that you have valid insurance, and when that insurance expires. The day before your insurance is set to expire, the MVD calls your insurance company and verifies you have renewed your insurance. If you have no renewed your insurance, your license goes into suspension.
Basically, if you get a really bad driving record, the state forces you to have insurance if you hold a valid drivers license. The SR22 is just a fee that you pay in order for your insurance company to cooperate with the state's MVD.

Yeah, totally. Insurance sucks... but I can't blame anyone but myself really, so I take it in stride. It just kills me to know that for my $789/month bill for payments+insurance on an OZ Rally, I could easily be driving and insuring an Evo with a clean record.
There is a good side to this story though. 1) I am a much safer driver now 2) After selling my SS and getting this OZ, I've come to like import vehicles, and will probably be sticking with them from now on. Compared to my `01 SS w/ 440whp, this OZ is a dog with 3 legs, but it's just built _so_ much better.
