My first build.

Hey everyone. Long story short blew the back off my stock block last October during cruising the coast down here so here's my build as it goes. Pulled trans and tc out and sent to shep.
Engine is at a local builder being put together. Turbo is going to fp to be upgraded to a black.
So far this is what I am working with or going to get:

Fujita piping
Ams fmic
Fp black ported 25 lb wg
Ported Stock intake mani
Ported Stock tb
FIC 1650s
BR double pumper
Evo 9 head ported .5 supertech valves
Supertech duals and ti retainers
Fp 4r cams
Wiseco hd pistons .40 over
BR spec Manley tt 2.3 rods
AMS oil cooler
2.4 crank
AMS balance shaft delete
Fluid damper
Acl bearings
Stock ex mani ported
ETS or MAPs 02/dp(can't remember which company makes the one piece)
Invidia tp
Greddy ti c cat back
Exedy twin(I think)
Shep stage 2 street strip trans.
Shep stage 2 tc with q. lsd.
Sun hyper ignition, maybe another
Stop tech fronts
BRs MBC
Whitelines front lower control arm bushings and tie rod ends
Evo 9 wiring harness and ecu for my swap.
Perhaps an English Racing tune or Mellon
I might have left something out. Probably did

....Still working on the rest. Not really sure. I am switching this 9 motor into my 8. I already have the harness, and I think ecu. So far motor is at shop. Waiting on pistons tranny is on its way home. Tc being built. Turbo about to be worked on. Let me know if any of you evo geniuses out there have any suggestions. It will be a dd with a track day here and there. But mostly the street. E85 when racing.
Thanks.

How the heck did you get that price? Sheps website says 3999 for the Stage 2 tranny.

Held Trevor at gunpoint. Ha!

Not really, its the price for sending them your tranny to rebuild. Not a brand new one from mitsu.
Same thing if you ask me. Either way when you get your parts back they are bulletproof.

You're telling me! i was expecting to drop 400 bucks for the rebuild but sure enough he called me and said ya you are going to have to replace your ring and pinion with what you are planning on doing. 2300 bucks. made me feel sick but hey i keep saying its gonna be bullet proof! No not to abuse it but for what i will be doing ya.

So there's just this concept that I am not seeming to grasp. I have no clue how these things are calculated and categorized. I have a 2.0 block with a 2.4 crank. So that somehow makes it a 2.3 right? Then I read somewhere that using doing that increases displacement by .93L. So then it becomes a 2.1. Does this combo make it really something out of the norm? Or is this just nothing special and I am thinking way too much into it???

I like the idea of switching a 9 motor into the 8. Always wanted to do that myself.

Why run an MBC when you're going to tune with a stock ECU? Also, why the stop tech fronts? If you're not going to do some serious road racing, the money would be better spent elsewhere. Besides the bushings, what are you doing suspension-wise? If you don't need to, don't go .4 or even .2 over.
