Yes, how is it that NASA contracts an import tuning shop from Greece? Not a laboratory with a singular standing in the world market, where it and only it can deliver a product of a given nature, but a frucking machine/welding shop in a side-street in a foreign country? This is NASA, not Walmart. Their security and performance concerns lie on an entirely different level. Who wants to take a shot at explaining this?

NASA has someone like LM(pretty common) design, manage, and build some space craft. Lockheed Martin goes to specialized manufactures... per say composites or machining. And then a part of that project is sublet to yet another firm. That firm may in turn sublet small component machining, waterjet, plasma cutting, media blasting, painting, etc. to another shop.

**Where this doesn't make sense is these guys are Foreigners that don't live in the US. They have to pass some AS9100 certifications and have some sort of clearance to work on these projects. Since they're from Greece... that doesn't make much sense.

So if you were to tell me that FP did some work for NASA... I might believe that. They're in the USA and they have a mill capable of producing parts. They're probably not AS9100 certified, but their employees are all born Americans.

 

Ahhh. That makes sense then. I wonder what kind of magical components he will fabricate to make the 4g63 handle the trip to Mars.

Can i just add that was a sarcastic comment, i didn't literally mean they were working for NASA!! But hey they still do loads of F1, WRC and MOTOGP work .... so they say. They are as honest as the Greek government when it comes to monetary reforms if that helps
