DaGermans first build!

Hey Everyone!

So I'm going the 2.3 route, that is set in stone! I want the best of the best, I'm really in no rush to get the build done. I can across a long block and made the deal, now its at my buddies shop. I want the best possible setup, I've done lots and lots of reading about other peoples builds. Nothing but respect to everyone out there and their crazy power builds!! I'm looking to go all out on this. So I'm open to everyone opinions, to help make this the build i dreamed of! Oh I will be stuck strictly on 91 for the time being, at least until I can get out of New Mexico, I do have an aquamist system but havent found anyone who will tune it without asking me to pay their mortgage/car/girlfriend all at the same time..... So any advice you guys have will be most appreciated

You might be right on that but I can buy another car for that! It might not be an Evo but 9k is killer!

Best of best, but don't want to pay $9k. Either your a troll or a Moron, a best of average build will cost over 15k. Good luck.

ok so since I dont want to get labeled as a troll, I will explain. Im looking to piece together MY OWN Stroker kit, not buy a short block off their shelves. Thats what I plan on doing. Im not saying I wont buy a stroker kit from someone, but I would like to build everything myself. That way if something goes wrong I will have no one to blame but myself.

Im just looking to get some info on what you all think would be the best parts to get it right and have it hold!!

Well I am speaking from experience now... Putting your own kit together gets very expensive even when you think you saving money. In the long run all that work is more or less guaranteed from a built engine from either AMS, BR, or even MAP. My mistake was putting my setup together from CP and Eagle Cranks which IMO are great manufacturers.
Once you have it all installed and running you could easily run into issues like improper torque on cam caps or main caps or even rod caps and if the crank tolerances are not spec 'd properly the crank could end up walking and taking out a thrust washer which means alot more work with the bottom end all over again. And then it comes down to the break in time for the engine and the pre dyno inspection which can easily tally up a bill very fast if one thing is out of whack. I am not telling anyone not to build an engine cause it is possible. I am just more or less giving some advice on building an engine and the costs that one must take into consideration. Mine is not quite finished but I find it will be around 3X as much as the complete engine itself cost to build all said and done. Best of Luck to YOU

? A longblock motor shouldn't cost you anything near $9K, man.

He said he wanted the best of everything. Do you think he can achieve that for 9K? Or even half that? No.
