Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I'm pretty excited to get it back on the road. I still think I am going to pass on the cage for now.

I have ordered every part for the build including the STM FF manifold so far excluding the engine gaskets which I will get in a week or two.

The cylinder head is getting shipped to Curt tomorrow morning Block will go the machine shop as soon as I get the engine parts.. hoping by early next week.

as for your ignition issue. in my experience ''because it has happened to me a few times'' is your cam sensor is going bad/is bad. change it out. i am on my 3rd one. why? i have no clue but anytime i notice a miss in the engine or a backfire doring a pull i change the cam sensor and the car is back to normal.

its worth a shot to look into.

No problem. Obviously I check the plugs and ignition first but if all fails it seems the cam sensor is the issue. Very strange and annoying. They seem to last me about 1 year.

 

Yeah, i've never heard of that happening but atleast you're able to fix the issue everytime it happens .

 

Ohhhh that was your car that we lined up with in Ohio. I'm so pissed that I didn't get a chance to introduce myself/chat with you in the lanes. We had a great time.

Ah nice! I only made one clean pass that day since the car was breaking up and it was against my friend, so i'm sure whatever you have probably isn't worth posting lol. I'll be at next years SO as well
