Craig's 2.4LR build thread
After too much waiting I finally got my block back from the machine shop. I have most of the engine back together! Won't be long now.
This is how she sits as of 7/18/13

This is my battery relocation project finished.

Here is how I wired under the hood.

I like the terminal for the negative in the trunk. Any info on that?
Also what kind of fuse or fusible link is that on the positive?
I like the bracket for the fuse block.

Joe: I got the ground from a stereo shop, just a grounding stud and that is a circuit breaker on the positive, also from a stereo shop. Both are stinger brand. You can press the red button to disconnect the positive without taking the wire off. The bracket was just plate steel that I bent and cut.
Dsmguy: thanks, I'm looking forward to getting this thing buttoned up soon.

I got the break in tune loaded up and put some miles on the car. No major leaks, the oil looks good after the 30 mile change, but my new alternator was bad, took a while to figure out, so hopefully sometime next week I can get it to idle and drive better. This 2.4 sounds amazing, much different than my 2.0.
Well, I have put about 200 miles on my engine. After swapping from 2150's to 1100's my car drives much better on 91. I am moving at the beginning of September to a city without E85 so I am really bummed about that. My 10.5:1 is not going to like the 91 octane for sure. However there is a local company that sells 98 octane racing fuel that I might be able to cut with 91 to make 93-94 octane for a decent price.
I must say, speed density on my 2.4 is great. My car runs really well and is pretty darn smooth compared to my 2.0. I hope that my investment can get me into the 11's on pump!
