R33LCAR aka CP9A EvoVI
So it has been many years since I have posted anything up on this forum mainly due to lack of interest after my Turboed 4G69 episode... but that is a whole other story.
Keen on getting back into a turboed car and my fondness for the old shape sedan and that they carry less weight and AM parts are plentiful I thought time to get one.
After many months of hunting around the country finally found one that was the right colour right amount of supposed klms and no visable mods with a average body with no dents.
The list of things that needed fixing replacing are
Full 100klm service - changed water pump timing belts pullies cam seals accessories belt oils in tran diff etc.
The door seal need to be replaced - this was easy as the seals from the four door sedan base Mirages are the same.
Front bar needs a clean up and repaint
the shocks being 13 years old are tired replaced those with BC gold coilovers
the cat back exhaust was a bit f a mongrel build as it had 2 different sized pipes cats mufflers etc this was certainly not helping me with speed so got a XForce titanium muffler and new pipe work and cat.
the car came with a really funky smell to it I think the previous owners baby must of thrown up in the car coz it smells of stall mould baby formular - so the car has been stripped out and washed - several times but the smell is a lot less now
but the bonus with ripping the car apart is that I found a Haltech Platinum sports 1000 ecu in there - WINNING - downside to that is the ecu is password locked
the ENKEI Tarmac rims have a number of scratches and kerb hits - they are getting powdercoated as I write this so they will look awesome when I get it back.
I have a set of new DBA disc slotted they are waiting for me to get new pads and then I will paint up the calipers in black gloss with the white Brembo stickers - should look good
Incar well it came with very basic head unit and that was about it so I got busy and installed Alpine splits and 6.5 in the rear with a PDX amp and a IDA head unit.
And something that is different it has a accurate 280klm speedo.
Parts I have waiting & things to do.
I have a MR Evo VIII turbo it is same size as the VI 10.5 but it is supposed to be better. I will install this along with a new dump pipe new fuel pump
Brakes are a big one I need to get that done sooner rather than later.
New intercooler - original is falling apart looking at the GReddy
also wanting to get a hot side pipe work.
rear bar needs repainting along with the black door frame trim. other than that I am just enjoying the car.

So much has been done to the car since I last wrote this... I have since recarpeted the car with a black carpet which just looks mint just a PITA doing it took longer than I thought but the results are perfect. Installed a new Ali radiator - the GReddy intercooler went in - found a HKS intake and a new K&N pod filter bigger fuel pump, 850cc FIC injectors deleted the MAF had the car retuned which gave a nice 264HPATW... put some new discs on and did a quick repaint on the calipers which came up nice but not 100% happy I can do better, and I have just recieved a set of Tomei cams 270's nothing over the top but will produce nice numbers and a cool lumpyness to the car.
With it being winter here it is time for the car to go into the shed for more love and attention.
The alternator is on its way out so that will be repaired ($125 vs $800) will look at some paint work on the car to tidy it up some.
