LaFuriaRoja's 3G turbo build
LaFuriaRoja's 3G turbo build
I'm actually pretty hesitant about posting my whole build thusfar because I tend to wait until my 'work in progress' is finished, but in the meantime I figured it'd be good to get some feedback.
2001 Eclipse GS, 4-speed sportronic (auto)
Performance:
T04e turbo @12psi (single scroll, journal bearing, i.e. basic)
TiAL 38mm external wastegate w/atmospheric dump
4G63 stainless steel T3-flanged turbo manifold
2.5" intake piping
Weapon-R filter and velocity stack (temporary, until I convert to GM MAF)
Slim front-mount intercooler
2.5" custom turbo-back exhaust
DSM 450cc injectors w/resistor pack
Walbro 255 fuel pump
GReddy Type-RS BOV (vented)
A/C delete
Hayden 30k GVW trans cooler
Aluminum two-row radiator w/15" pusher fans
Battery relocation
Glowshift boost+trans temp gauges
AEM UEGO wideband
ECUflash tuned
Cosmetic:
KYB AGX w/Megan springs
Stock wheels
VIS V-line wing
Plastidip+niteshade here and there
LED tail lights
Sonar halo projectors
I really didn't plan on even starting this build until my friend offered me a lot of part off his turbo 420a, at which point I couldn't refuse. The turbo itself, intercooler, piping, and wastegate are still being used from that setup.
Primarily though, I'm working on a DOHC build using a Hyundai Sonata G4JS head. I currently have the head with all stock springs/retainers/valves/guides/etc, BC 272s, HKS cam gears, Galant GS DOHC timing belt, S90 70mm TB, and an aluminum intake manifold. I also have a CoolingMist water/meth injection kit, which I plan on using to create a direct-port setup. I'm also piecing together a DIY water intercooler sprayer.
Cosmetic-wise, I have 18" TSW Trackstar 5's that need mild repair, as well as a VIS "Evo-style" carbon fiber hood requiring spacers and some cleaning up. I'd like to dip the car sometime in the spring, if I can finish the head first.

Yeah 3G's aren't exactly well-liked (well obv. hahahh) by tuners, but I found it unique. I only have VD numbers - on my cleanest pull it reached 267hp and 280ft*lbs on 12psi, but I feel like it's a little bit high even still.
