TSComptuned 2014 on going build thread
Hey Tom what will you be tuning on for the GTR. I have heard that Cobb is now very picky about who they allow to have protuner rights for the GTR. Sources say they require a full detailed form about your shop, customers and how many cars you expect to tune. Good luck with getting protune i really hope you join the small lists of legit GTR tuners
Thanks guys! I was definitely surprised when I seen a 2009 randomly on ebay with only 3,700 miles on it. The car was garaged all its life. Looks like the previous owner mainly focused on looks and show vs performance. I am going to change it a bit to my likings, but in general the exterior is nice. The carbon pieces added really make it look sharp exterior wise I think.
In regards to the Cobb. Not sure, but im sure I can be a pro tuner if i talk to them. You can always use race tuner pro and tune cars like that also, just cant lock the maps.
When that time comes though I'll see. Right now the car came with Cobb, so thats what I will tune it with. I actually planned on using Cobb anyways.
Id like to be able to tune both Cobb & Ecutek when need be. I dont like not giving people options. I try to be as open as possible.

Nice pickup! take her to the track before you start to unleash the power so we can see how much faster she is getting. Does it even feel fast compared to your EVO?
You mentioned the EVO not feeling cheap, does the EVO still hold its own in terms of driving experience?

It doesn't take much to make these cars fast due to the transmission. My goal is high 9's on stock turbos.
As far as driving, i cant really answer that right now, since i didn't really drive the car much. Just off the trailer, and down the street and into the driveway. Then into the garage to remove the system from the car. I did get a 1-2-3 pull though down the street.
I'm not taking it back out until i change the oil and raise the suspension a little. Just waiting on the low profile jack to come so i can raise the car off the ground. its to low to get anything under it right now.
I'll take it to the track after i learn the car 100%. I wont take it down the track unless its on my tune.

I just retuned the evo tonight and I'm very happy with how its performing.
So tonight I decided to finally tune the evo. Poor thing was stuck at 10.6-10.8 AFR ever since I swapped the gas tank out months ago. After leaning it out to around 11.8-12 it picked up a lot of hp and tq and went from 690whp 580wtq to 752whp and 620wtq without changing anything but the rich afr.
Then we slowly increased the boost to roughly 38psi (omni map reading)
Below is a video with 2 passengers and myself + at the 752whp 620wtq 32psi level.
And here is the graph showing various boost levels:

Good numbers that looks beastly. Have you ever had any issues with loosing your accessory drive belt. I lost mine yesterday\ mid pass at the track. I have PS and AC so im thinking that could be an issues.
