Update!

This build is long over due for an update. I have been busy at work, then any free time I had I was working on the car. I have tons of pics and will try and upload quite a few.

The car is painted now. I am in the middle of assembling it. Interior is 90% done. This week I have begun to put the things in the bay that need to go in before the motor goes in. I am hoping to put the motor in this weekend sometime.

Onto some pics!

My contraption to hold the handles and mirrors.

Some White Sealer

White base laid down!

Pearl Mid coat....I know I have way more pics of the car in the pearl before clear. I will upload those later this week..

After 3 coats of High Solids clear...

Once the car was done, I pulled it out of the garage everyday and let it sit in the sun after work. In the meantime, I got the bumpers, wing and vortex generator prepped and ready for paint...

I loved the seeing the JDM rear done in pearl white!

Baking in natures oven! haha

After all that was done I started to sand and buff the car. I will uplaod more pics of that process later. My process of sanding was in this order....600(wet), 800(wet),1000(wet), 1200 DA disc, then a 3000 trizact pad. Then a buff.

Carbon and pearl white is such a winning combo!!

9"x9" carbon plate to make some plates for blockoffs and my milspec plug on the firewall...

Milspec plug done!

Moved my distribution block to the fireall and re routed the power cable to direct route. Then I also gut out my own AC blockoff plate out of the carbon plate as well!

Lastly for tonight. I have been spraying all my black plastic trim with Duplicolor bumper and trim paint. This stuff actually works really well!

Thats it for tonight. This post is a sort of time lapse of whats been going on. I will update with much more pics. This week I have all my new Stainless braided brake lines coming, my FPR kit, all my vacuum lines and fittings since I switched over to the push-to-connect style vacuum lines. So be looking for a lot more pics lol.

Looks awesome bud! I can't wait to see it in person. That pearl white is probably one of my favorite colors.

Thanks guys, should have more pics soon. I'm gonna get the trans sprayed tonight and finish a few of the black trim parts, then it's waiting for some goodies that should be here this week.

Thanks a lot! ^^

Some small updates tonight. I finished spraying all my trim. Got my trans painted. Intake recoated in a wrinkle black finished. This was after I drilled and tapped the intakke for the new push to connect fittings. I should definitely be ready to drop the motor in in the next few days!

I also made my own baffle for the oil pan today. I pretty much just copied Buschurs, which he pretty much copied JUNs baffle. Not too hard to make at all. Took me about a half hour. I then made one for my buddy to put in his new pan for his new Curt Brown 2.3L

Push-to-connect fittings on the intake. All my vacuum hose has been replaced by this system. Really nice stuff!

Trans all painted and looking purty!

And lastly, the cowl trim. I was gonna buy this new cause mine was so faded. After hacing good luck with the trim paint, I shot it as well. Looks like new!

Ill be back at it tomorrow!

Very nice progress! Paint seems like a good trade to learn. Time consuming but rewarding. Good job on that oil pan baffle. Since I spun a bearing in my last Evo I am super paranoid about my current one. Would love to get a baffled pan as a safety feature since Evos love to spin bearings.

That's what happened to my last motor. Had about 2100 miles on it and it spun the #4 bearing.

Love the build so far, just wish you kept it EB. In my opinion the best color out there.

The blue was nice, I'll admit that. I was planning on repainting the car electric blue originally. Once I had the engine bay prepped and ready to go, I decided to do a color change. I have a problem prepping an engine bay to spray the same color haha.

Thanks man, the lip is just a carbon SE lip. I actually got it on eBay from a seleler I've bought from before. Fits nice and seems to be good quality.
