I must say, to have someone of your stature pay any attention to what I'm doing is both incredibly honoring and motivating! Hopefully you'll be able to check it out sometime at one of the upcoming Shoot Outs

I want to say thank you to everyone else who has shown interest and support in this project so far. In all honesty, it's a bit overwhelming to have something I'm doing be received so well; I'm still a bit besides myself after seeing the email newsletter featuring my build. All of your support has inspired me to take this to the next level (no that doesn't mean I'm going full race car ) and do this car the most justice that I can. So stick with me through this journey, and I promise I'll do my best to make it worth it!

sir shiftalot good luck with bringing that back to life. Glad I'm not the only one crazy enough to do it!
i know weight saving is key here but ive heard that lizard skin spray works as a good sound deadner but i dont know if you would even save any weight by doing that.

Keep at it dude and i wanna see this thing either this year or next at the shoot out i plan to be going this year and next and taking mine for the first time. wish i could help you out with parts but ive only had my evo for couple months now and dont really have any spares of anything

Yeah one of my friends also brought up lizard skin so that may be a option if I decide its too loud but for now I'm going to plan on leaving it out.

I certainly plan on attending the Shoot Out once its all back together! I'm not expecting to be at the next one just because I want to make sure I have a realistic time line with how much work there is to get done. But hopefully for sure I'll be at the fallowing one!

From my experience in removing the sound deadening material in some of my mustang builds, it is great for a race car. I went from street car that was comfortable to ride in, to race car with material removed, back to street car and hated it without the deadening. When I put it on the road the elevated noise slowly drove me insane and the temperature swings inside were crazy. I would put something back, it will make the car way more enjoyable in the long run. Hope this helps.

This past weekend I was able to pick up a IX turbo from a guy on our local Facebook group. Friday was kind of a day of turbos I really didn't have intentions of buying a turbo this weekend but it seems the universe had different plans for me. Several popped up for sale on Friday and I almost went for a Green but after talking with a buddy decided to stick with my original plans and goals for this car. The turbo is in really good shape and even came with the stuff to get it installed on the my VIII. So over all I fell like it was a good weekend and I picked up the part that to me is the most exciting.

Just a quick update on my stuff. I've been rather busy the past few weeks with work and the holiday so haven't had much time to make progress on the car. Hopefully will be getting some stuff done here soon though it may only be small stuff as I'll be moving at the first of the year so I'll also be preparing for that.

Just a heads up

If you remove the firewall mat In the engine bay and the heavy sound deadening mat behind the dash it gets quite loud.

I'd reccomend putting dynamat on the firewall behind the dash

You got me hooked man, can't wait to see more of this. Its definitely inspiring me to fix all the stuff wrong with my evo by myself and not have someone else do all the work. Even if that's a huge learning curve
