I'm trying, I work 10 hours a day for three weeks then I get five days off so that's when I usually work on it. In the mean time I'm driving a forester xt so I'm ready for winter!

So I sprayed the bumper cover with clear, turned out pretty decent.

This is the clear I used, it is equivalent to the stuff paint shops spray out of a gun

The clear matches the clear on the rest of the car, it is really glossy, you can kinda see that better in this darker image

Thanks man. Yeah I did my research and had previous experience doing this kinda stuff, but anyone can do it as long as you use the right product.

not much progress lately, waiting for my days off, installed the headlights and trying to diagnose my passenger front turn signal not working. tried tracing the wires and they do not have any damage but am not getting any power to them. anyone got any wiring diagrams or know if the wires go straight into the fusebox?

Your turn signals will be fused at a junction block.
I have a .pdf for circuit diagrams from the Evo 9 service manual.
PM me your email address and I'll send you the file.

Great job thus far! I'm glad this evo ended up in your hands. There seems to be some black specs left on the passenger side of the front bumper, is that just reflection or the base coat didn't cover some parts ?

The specs you see is me pulling a retard move, there were some chips there and I didn't have enough paint to cover that area so I used some touch up paint with a brush and then I cleared over that so in some angles thats what you see. However it is good enough for me for now, i'm just trying to get the car together so I can get it registered and driving. I plan on repainting the whole car at some point but it will do for now.

Oh, I see. Haha, I made my fair share of stupid mistakes as well. I once poured in my motor oil without the turbo oil return line bolted in. Ended up with 3 quarts on the ground. The bad part is I was just down there to tighten the oil drain bolt!

ok lots of progress today, I found out why the turn signal wouldn't work. turns out the shop that welded on the core support didn't protect the loom going to the inner fender and the slag burned through and damaged 3 wires, one of which was the signal wire for the passenger front turn signal. So resoldered the broken wires and sealed up the loom. Another thing I did but forgot to take pictures of is I took the drivers front fender off and sealed the grommet that feeds the loom into the cabin through the inner fender with some silicone in order to prevent future electrical issues from corrossion. I then installed the headlights and sideskirts and the front bumper cover which you can tell isn't secured all the way but ill finish that tomorrow and take some better pics in some daylight.
