Unplanned spontaneous Sunday afternoon Mod for Free!

While vacuuming the dirt and grit out of the spare wheel well I noticed these two bolts on the boot floor.

I wondered, by any chance… that these bolts could be in the same position & same distance apart as they are on the CT9A chassis. I searched through my spare parts cupboard and found a Mitsubishi sport option alloy boot/trunk floor brace that was on my old Evo 8MR wreck that I bought for parts years ago.

These bolts go down into the rear chassis rails. I thought they might put up a fight but they came out quite easily with no corrosion to be found.

I lined up the brace… No Way… Perfect fit!
So I applied some Nickel Anti-seize paste on the bolts and installed it.

I expect the brace will do absolutely nothing, but it weighs almost nothing and it cost nothing. So unexpected win!

I had this Ralliart panel filter sitting on my shelf which I had used briefly in my Evo IX and thought I would try it out in the TME. It fits and blings up the engine bay with a little Ralliart goodness. Not sure if it's filtration ability is as good as a K&N or paper filter though.

Hey Andy, what's the part number for this air filter?

Yesterday I officially started my YouTube channel by uploading my first video featuring a TME brake restoring job.

I've only made 1 video so far but I have plans to do many.

Today is the day to become an OG Subscriber

Anyway if you decide to Subscribe to my Channel that would be very cool and appreciated 🙂

I've created a few more Evo restoration videos to the channel. some feedback would be great.

I made a snap-on roll cab video too which some people might like. but let me know

more tool reviews and Evo servicing videos soon too. They won't be as good as Paul's but I'm trying to improve in these Covid lockdown times

cheers Andy

That's a great way to document the maintenance! I would love to import an Evo VI one day.
