MAX EVO's "OEM PLUS" Build

Here's what has been dubbed by my buddies as the Unicorn, my bone stock 2010 EVO X GSR. In the next few months I will be upgrading the car. I'm not looking to
do too much, hence the OEM PLUS title of the thread. Just wanted to get the car better than stock.

A quick update, I was sent the wrong parts so I sent them back and will have to wait for the correct ones.

Good on your for not going crazy with a build. My 08 GSR is similar, just some simple bolt ons and a tune, and the thing is RELIABLE as heck. been running strong with no mechanical issues in my 6 years of ownership.

Any particular reason you decided to go with an AMS downpipe versus ETS’. People tend to go back and forth with these two so I’m just curious!

I went with AMS because of it being 304 cast stainless steel with the flex joint.

Great job there Max. I recently loaded those 3 AEMs into my EvO as well

My mistake was ordering the lower value oil pressure up to 100 vs the 150psi. When i cold start i get the 3 bar max sign & once the oil heats it runs in the range (oh well, my bad)

You got the right ones!

Your build just made me have the “if I only knew then what I know now” moment. My first evo I should have kept stock with just a tune and everything else focus on weight reduction (without gutting the interior ).

Im not sure of what options the Evo X’s have but have you considered reducing its weight ?

When I bought the car brand new in February 2010 I always had plans to keep it as a project car for the future, but never thought about reducing the weight.

Thanks, When I was looking at the gauges I thought I should get the ones with more range even if it costs a bit more.

Now I just need to find or fabricate a gauge pod to put under the climate controls.

UPDATE

Cold Air Intake has finally arrived

So now I have all the parts I wanted, time to install.
I'm looking at the first two weeks of September to get this done.
