Just recently posted this but found this forum better fits it. I plan on swapping a 4g63 into my 2009 fwd 5 speed lancer. I was just wondering whether or not the stock transmission would work with a 4g63. If not would love to hear other tranny/drivetrain options.

P.S. I plan on getting a better transmission in the future just not at the moment.

 

4g63 would cost you a lot of money and time to fit it. Your better off putting a 4b11 in it

 

Not to be a buzzkill, but projects of this size take a lot of time and more importantly money to complete.
My suggestion would be simply buying an Evo or Ralliart depending how important the manual trans is to you. You will save money and a ton of headaches going this route not to mention AWD and a plethora of bolt on aftermarket support.

 

I’m just curious, why do you want a 4g63 over a 4b11? It would be much easier to swap a 4b11 into your car.
