FS: 2003 Yellow EVO VIII 23,500 miles, New Orleans, LA.
Hey guys,
This is breaking my heart, but I have decided to sell my EVO. The car is a 2003 yellow EVO VIII with sunroof and rear wing spoiler, lightly modified with 23,500 miles, in great condition. It has been exquisitely well maintained. I only used Mobil 1 at every oil change. The car was serviced at 15,000 miles in San Antonio, TX at Gillman Mitsubishi in September during our evacuation from Hurricane Katrina. We evacuated to TX in the EVO before Hurricane Katrina hit the area.
Why am I selling the EVO? The EVO is an amazing car. I've never had more fun driving any other car in my life. However, as those who own an EVO can tell you, there is no such thing as a relaxing drive in the EVO. It's always exhilarating. Exhilaration for 16 hours straight evacuating a hurricane is something I do not want to do again. The EVO is an awesome performance car, it's just not suited very well for extra long trips. Also, it was exhausting to drive for 9 hours straight, in stop and go traffic, with a manual transmission.
I haven't completely decided on another vehicle, yet. I'm considering a new 2006 Audi A4 2.0t Quattro with an automatic transmission. I like the all-weather capability of AWD. But, I'm looking for something more comfortable and more luxurious for long distance drives.

As it stands now, the car is basically a Vishnu stage 0+. With that said, the modification list follows:
Greddy Titanium cat-back
Ultimate Racing high-flow cat and downpipe
JDM MR BOV
K&N panel filter
Autolite boost gauge
17 x 8.5 Bronze 5Zigen ProRacer GN+ wheels
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires with approximately 50% tread
ACT Heavy Duty Clutch with street disk (new - put on at about 20,000 miles)
Upgraded Sony stereo with speakers
Vishnu XEDE
I also have a set of new HKS cams still in the box (264 intake, 272 exhaust) and a new set of Vishnu cam gears still in the box, along with the stock wheels. These will be included with the car.
Kelly Blue Book list the private party value for "good" condition at $23,430. NADA list the "average retail" value at $25,375.
Make me an offer. No low ball offers, please.

I forgot to add that I have an extended warranty on the car. I'll be going to test drive an Audi this Wednesday and see what they offer me for a trade-in. If it is not sufficient, I will probably list the car on eBay. If you are interested, speak up before I list it on eBay.
The EVO has been incredibly reliable. I have had absolutely no mechanical problems at all, with the exception of a slipping clutch at around 20,000 miles due to normal wear. A new ACT clutch was installed around that time. The car has never been abused, raced, or tracked. I originally purchased the car with the intention of auto-crossing. However, I own and operate a business. My work schedule has thus far kept me from participating in that hobby.
I purchased the car in November of 2003. For the most part, I only drive to and from work and put very little milage on it. 5,000 of those miles (right under 23,500) are pure highway miles, driving to and from San Antonio, TX to New Orleans, LA during hurricane evacuation. Otherwise, the EVO is driven very little and stays in a covered parking garage at night.
I'll take more recent pictures later in the week, along with pics of the cams (in the box) and cam gears (still in the box). Let me know if you have any question.

Wow! No replies? Don't worry about water damage. The car was not in flood. We evacuated to TX before the storm hit New Orleans. This EVO is clean, immaculate inside and out. Here are some pics I took earlier today. If I do not get any replies here, I'll probably list the car on eBay.

New HKS cams still in the box and new Vishnu cam gears in the box go with the car. I also have all four stock wheels. Those go with the car also.
