2006 Evo 9 RS - WW - Immaculate
Dear All,
If you are truly interested, please email me at "erikklemm@gmail.com" ...I will most likely respond sooner than a PM or thread reply.
-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX RS
-Wicked White
-1 of 358 sold in North America in model year 2006.
-Psychotically clean, 99,100 miles
-California
-Immaculate condition
-$23,000
I am not the original owner, but have had this car since mile 3053. It has been completely bullet-proof over the past 7.5 years and has been used solely as my spirited daily driver on the California coast. I am a mature, respectful driver in his late 30’s. The car has never been tracked (no drag, autox, anything). No boost before oil temp/etc has reached operating temps. Has seen rain only a handful of times.
Included is an excel chart which documents every mile and when things were performed/installed. I have every single receipt/maintenance document chronologically organized in a 3 ring binder. Everything has been done as per the prescribed manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. I would take photos of the odometer during every oil change interval and attach those with receipts of the accompanying maintenance. Crazy, I know...
Interior: 9.5 out of 10
No food or drink has ever been in the car. The passenger seat has been sat in only a hand-full of times…and the rear seat maybe 3 times. I love the purity of this car, therefore no stereo was ever installed. (The RS is still wired for install from the factory so this can be done easily.)
Exterior: 9.5 out of 10
The car has never been in an accident, nor has a single ding anywhere. I have always parked far away from anyone, and the car is always sheltered underground every night. Matching VIN codes are still in place on every body-panel. (Except for the JDM bumper in the rear)
Only cosmetic blemish are the front Brembo’s. As you know, a common issue with the 8/9’s is the fading of the clear-coat.
-JDM rear bumper
-IX SE wheels. No curb rash AT ALL. (Still have stock RS/GSR Enkei wheels as well to be included)
-35% tint
-Nitto NT05 255/40/17 tires (6K miles on current set)
-Megan Racing Street coilovers (installed at 94,216 miles). (Still have stock struts/springs to be included).
-Giro Disc rotors w/Projcet MU pads (lots of life left).
Performance:
Over the years, only two shops have ever touched the car for bolt-on/suspension/tuning:
-RoadRace Engineering: All bolt-ons, scheduled maintenance, etc was done here. Love these guys, and IMHO, one of the great DSM/Evo shops in the country. You are welcome to contact Gus, Sam, or Robert Ramirez who will gladly vouch for the condition of the car.
-Scot Gray: I have trusted Scot with all tuning. He has been in the DSM community and tuning since the 1990’s (the car was always tuned out of RRE on their dynapack)
-Muellerized: Gilbert Flores coilover installs.
I wanted to keep a stealth, classy daily driver that was reliable yet quick. The car has passed legitimate California smog on each of 3 occasions over the years, even with these bolt-on’s in place:
-Stock 4G63 (no cams, etc).
-RRE 3” downpipe, RRE high flow cat, RRE 3” catback
-AEM intake (CARB sticker in place)
-255 Walbro fuel pump
-RC1000 injectors
-RRE 3-port boost solenoid
-ETS full 3.5 inch intercooler with all gloss black piping
-CBRD BBK-Full Turbo, ported (heat shield still in place, you would never know that this is not the stock 9 turbo)
-ACT clutch (recently installed at 96,183 miles), with RRE flywheel
-Dual Map for E85 and 91. Easy, 5 second switch between the two.
These bolt-on’s and tune have remained in place since November 2012. I have thoroughly enjoyed the power and reliability this setup/tune has provided over the years. Never a hiccup.
E85: 443 awhp / 407 torque on the RRE dynapack
I have run E85 mostly all the time the past 4.5 years, switching to 91 every 3 months as a cleanser. On crappy California 91 octane, the car made 335 awhp.
For peace of mind of the next buyer, I had RRE check the compression last week. A perfect 145 across the board.
Only issue:
I have not performed the passenger airbag recall. Free to do at a Mitsubishi dealer, I just haven’t had the chance. For the time being, I unplugged that fuse.
Other than that, the car looks/feels/performs like it has 5,000 miles on it. I would not hesitate to drive this cross country or anywhere. The only OEM part to ever fail was the stock battery, which still lasted 9 whole years. I still have mostly all of the stock parts except for the turbo and exhaust. (intercooler + piping, stock airbox, turbo inlet pipe, 17” stock IX wheels/tires, stock suspension). I have both keys, manual, original window sticker, license plate bracket, and real JDM window visors from a dealer in Abiko, Japan. (never installed).
I love this car, and will regret selling it. But, my job is taking me overseas. Rest assured you are getting a cherry Evo that is fast, reliable and has been psychotically looked after.
I have many more photos if you'd like to see something specific...
Thanks for viewing,
Erik
