I will try to confirm. I appreciate it. There is also the chance that someone popped another filter on it. I will try to contact ams for verification

Okay here is what i have gathered. The K&N filter is red in color its just really dirty, the top of it is black. It is the identical filter seen on AMS website just really dirty as i stated in the OP. I have found two good pics of both intakes and i am almost positive it is the AMS intake.

You can view the two links above. The silcone hoses are identical in length as seen in the AMS intake where the AQ silicone pieces differ. KN filter vs AEM. The angles on the MAF pipe seem to be intentical and the one i have has the intake bung welded on as optional on AMS's site. Look at the links and see whether you agree but the AQ doesn't appear to even have the second hard pipe as i have pictured. The AQ website wouldn't work well for me loading wise so i google imaged their intake for the X. Also it appears that the AQ isn't bumper style from what i can read up on them it looks like it just mounts near where the stock air box is. Can someone find or show me a pic of an AQ that is a true CAI and mounts the filter in the lower part of the bumper? Just trying to get to the bottom of this. lol

the only thing i cannot verify 100% is the bracket shown on the bottom smaller hard pipes that are coupled together with the silicone "j" hose. This bracket appears to be on the small part of the AMS intake on the website if you look closely at the rear of it going away from the pic. Again i think this is AMs i would say 80% certain as i cannot find another one like it. And i also can't find something to verify it is not AMS. I have surfed looking for similar intakes and cannot find one that looks the same. All the AQ intakes i see are located under the hood instead of fender mounted as this one.

AMS intake

Its an AMS intake. The AQ motorsports intake vent/vacuum nipples are welded onto the pipe. The AMS intake has nipples that are secured onto the pipe via rubber gromets...not welded on.

The aq also doesn't have the weld in the top pipe. It is one solid pipe. Ams is 2 pieces with a welded joint. That is a ams intake.
