I have an 2008 Evo X GSR. with the snow this year I cracked up my front bumper lip and destroyed my plastic under panel. The bumper on the car is only cracked under the wire mesh so my plan is to just fiber glass the crack since the front lip will cover it just fine. Next step i ordered the SSP metal under panel ( A great product i must say) and here is my problem i haven't bought the lip yet and im not sure if the tabs that use to hold the under tray up came off the bumper or the lip. So if anyone knows or would take a look under their car id really appreciate it. Also if anyone can tell me a creditable site to order the lip, I'd like to get the same style i had. Thanks

 

Don't use fiberglass, it's not flexible it will just crack out. Go to a auto store and buy the SEM bumper repair kit and use that.

The tabs are on the bumper.
However-you can also use the SEM kit to repair bumper tabs

What lip did you have?

 

The lip that came on the gsr when I bought it. It came with the front lip and side skirts on it.

 

That's a dealer only part, it's called the "aero lip". It is really expensive, but it does come painted. You can buy copies of it on eBay for about $150, then you'll need to have it painted and fitted.

 

ok so in this picture is number 20 what attaches to the bumper that allows the under tray to have somewhere to clip? I've looked at pictures of just a bumper and there are no tabs and the front lip doesn't have them either. However I watched a front bumper removal video and saw that there was a small strip that attaches to the bottom of the bumper that as tabs on it. Im wondering if number 20 is the winner.

 

Yes. #20 is the black piece that curls under the front bumper lower air dam. It wraps around under vehicle and the under tray connects to it

 

this is what I need I cant use just a lip I have just the bumper with out holes for the undertreat to attach. The dealer wants 600+ and it comes painted. Anyone have another idea or am I stuck with that option.

 

you can get the non-areo option, or fix the one you have

 

Is there another option then the dealer? I had no luck looking for it online and its in a million pieces so fixing it is out.
