FEELER: ETS 4" Intercooler

I am thinking about swapping my 4 inch thick ETS intercooler to a little bit of a thinner model so I can reinstall my front crash beam.

Not to rain on anyones parade here for a shot at a great intercooler, but I just installed an ets 4" core last weekend and have my crash beam on.. There wasnt too much required to do it.

Well I installed a wide tank on my viii so bumper trimming and ect may be needed. I read on a thread somewhere michael from ets wrote that about an 1/8" spacer is all that was needed. I mounted the intercooler with the supplied hardware and spacers. I test fitted the bumper support with just setting it on the little tabs that stick out. I noticed my main issue was the excess material sticking out the back of the support from the two "vent holes"you could call them. I took a 10" grinder with a cutting wheel and cut the excess off. Sprayed some paint over to keep from rusting. Through it back on the car and was super close. So I used the oem bolts with a 1/2 lock washer, probably about 1/8" thick, behind the support to space it away. Its a close fit for sure but it worked for me.I had to do a little trimming on the mesh bracket but that wasnt too bad. The bumper cover went on a tab bit harder but thats probably because I didnt trim it any.
